The Foodvalley ecosystem accelerates innovation and growth by linking companies, from start-ups to multinationals, to the best knowledge, facilities, knowledge suppliers and potential partners.

Economically driven, based on the needs of the business community, the following themes and ambitions will be central in the coming years:

Protein Shift

More vegetable and less animal protein: the philosophy behind the Protein Shift Innovation Theme. Companies and other stakeholders in the production chain working together to create innovative and tasty vegetable ingredients and products, and the new technologies needed to produce them. This work contributes to the transition to a healthy and sustainable consumption pattern while strengthening the international competitive position of member companies in the Netherlands and abroad.

Circular Agriculture

Realizing innovations that accelerate the transition to circular, future-proof agriculture, thereby strengthening the international competitive position of member companies in the Netherlands and abroad. This is the vision of the Circular Agriculture Innovation Theme.

Food & Health

Supporting groundbreaking innovations that help people age healthily, thereby strengthening the international competitive position of member companies and knowledge suppliers inside and outside the Netherlands. These are the goals of the Food & Health Innovation Theme.

Smart & Digital Technology

From personalised nutritional advice to targeted crop breeding. IT, artificial intelligence, sensors, genomics, nanotechnology and other key technologies are accelerating innovation. We believe the agrifood sector is ripe with opportunities to deploy Smart & Digital Technology. In this innovation theme, companies and knowledge suppliers within the Netherlands and abroad are working to rapidly take the latest technologies to market, bringing the sustainable food chain ever closer.

Together with its members, companies and knowledge suppliers, and other organizations in the Foodvalley ecosystem, Foodvalley NL has defined an ambition and a course of action for each Innovation Theme.
