Foodlife’s Multifunctional fruit and vegetables washer
Foodlife’s multifunctional washer removes soil and debris from all kinds of fruit, vegetables and salads.
Food and vegetable suppliers are offering an increasingly-wide range of products. The large variety in size, weight and structure of fruit and vegetables presents a challenge when perfectly-clean produce is necessary. The Multi-Functional Washer, developed by Foodlife, is extremely effective in removing soil particles and debris from such produce.
The system - with a modular, hygienic and compact design - minimizes bruising by discharging products, into the wash tank, in a constant flow: the water softening the impact instead of the product. Water flow then pushes the product towards a transport conveyor. Heavier items sink directly onto the conveyor, whereas lighter items get transported in to the washing section via the flights. The transport conveyor is perforated to allow the passage of sand and small heavy debris. The conveyor is speed-adjustable and equipped with flights and running side guides.
As they proceed along the conveyor, items are sprayed with clean, fresh water, by overhead nozzles, which not only clean the item but also rotate it, giving a 360º washing result. This water is then used to replenish the pump tank. The washer, manufactured from stainless steel and food-grade polymers meets the highest current standards of food hygiene.
