Cheesepop

By using an innovative production method, Cheesepop produces innovative cheese products that deliver real new cheese experiences!

Cheesepop is a manufacturer that produces innovative cheese products by using a new self-developed production technique. This technique enables its customers and consumers to get complete new cheese experiences, and Cheesepop to continue to develop new cheese products in the near future.

In 2009, Cheesepop was founded by Mark Zijerveld, son of the renowned Dutch cheese family, Zijerveld. The eponymous family company was sold three years ago, to Royal FrieslandCampina. Although Cheesepop is an independently owned business, Mark has been able to build on the expertise and knowledge of his family in developing patented technology that makes the cheeses literally pop and can make grated cheese extremely dry.

In 2013, Cheesepop introduced its first product on the market using the eponymous name “Cheesepop”. Cheesepop is a unique snack made from one single ingredient: cheese. The cheese is cut, dried and then freshly popped. The new manufacturing method creates a unique pop with a powerful cheese taste. This product is specifically targeted at retail and foodservice.

In 2016, Cheesepop used almost the same new manufacturing method to develop extremely dried, grated cheese. The similar technique ensures an extra intense taste and a longer shelf life than has been reached before. This product is specifically targeted at the food industry as ingredient.

The possibilities are basically endless and Cheesepop is ready to take on the new challenges!
