CHEP Retail Display pallet and Beverage Tray System

This innovative ‘one-touch’ solution allows products to be stacked and displayed ‘retail ready’ at the point of manufacture which then flows seamlessly through to the retail floor.

With a strong focus on Retail Solutions and ‘store backwards’, CHEP looked at the needs of the retail store before moving back through the supply chain to find a solution for all parties.

Due to the competitive nature of the beverage category, CHEP developed the Retail Display Pallet (RDP) and Beverage Tray (BT) System.  This innovative ‘one-touch’ solution allows products to be stacked and displayed ‘retail ready’ at the point of manufacture which then flows seamlessly through to the retail floor. The same packaging is used throughout the supply chain, reducing waste and minimising handling and costs to all parties involved. The benefits are realised for all parties within the supply chain.

This solution is providing a way for beverage manufacturers to pre-pack fast-moving products onto a retail ready pallet, in place of traditional shelves. This avoids any cardboard being used in the manufacturing facility, allowing the manufacturer to pass cost savings onto the retailer to ultimately offer a lower price for the consumer.

Benefits also for retailers who are increasing their in-store sales return per square metre, without sacrificing consumer choice. Importantly, through using this solution customers are eliminating 1,250 tonnes of secondary packaging cardboard waste every year.

At the heart of CHEP Australia’s success is their focus on developing real solutions for their customers. For one major retailer, implementing the CHEP Retail Display Pallet and Beverage Tray System has reduced the amount of ‘touches’ by 66 per cent, increasing efficiencies and reducing costs.
