Sercom

Passion for control

Sercom develops process computers for horticulture and agriculture worldwide. Since the 1990s, Sercom has been the market leader in process control solutions in the flower bulb and chicory sector. The company was one of the first horticultural software developers to build modular
systems.

In recent years Sercom has developed innovative software for water management and irrigation in low-tech greenhouses in countries like Thailand and Poland. Sercom is also a reliable partner for automation in high-tech greenhouse environments, such as the first Dutch greenhouse that uses geothermal energy: a Sercom process computer controls the climate there. For Dutch greenhouse growers with a combined heat and power (CHP) installation, Sercom has developed the ‘Repobox’ (Remote Power Box) enabling growers to trade on the electricity market.

Sercom believes in sustainable solutions for the horticultural industry and builds products that last. It is not unusual for a Sercom computer to still be up and running after 25 years. Its modularity makes it possible to replace parts rather than having to install a complete new system. Sercom software is developed on a uniform platform, allowing all Sercom customers to benefit from updates and upgrades regardless of their installation format.

In 2012, Sercom and EMS won the HortiFair Innovation Award for their Air Monitoring application.
