Optimal nutrition for better health
The Nutrition & Healthcare Alliance significantly contributes to health by making nutritional science applicable in the transmural healthcare chain. The joint initiative of the Gelderse Vallei Hospital and the Human Nutrition Division of Wageningen University was launched in 2007. In 2017 Rijnstate Hospital joined the Alliance, increasing the research potential.
Nutrition & Healthcare Alliance activities
Together with industry and other organizations the Nutrition & Healthcare Alliance stimulates and validates new concepts in nutrition, food and exercise. The various innovative concepts support prevention in health care, recovery and quality of life. The Nutrition Alliance adds knowledge, research skills, a research setting and a stakeholder network to projects. Impact is achieved by applying acquired knowledge in the healthcare chain. Research and innovation programs that originated from the Nutrition & Healthcare Alliance are Cater with Care®, NutriProfile®, Taste & Smell Centre®, Eat2Move, functional MRI research facilities, Heart Failure & Salt and Nutrition and Cancer Research.

New innovations are developed, investigated and applied in the transmural care practice. Hospital Gelderse Vallei is now known as the Nutrition Hospital.
